The Red Sox couldn't pull out a win against the Yankees Sunday
night, but their loyal fans thronging to Fenway Park unwittingly helped police snag a pair of alleged robbers who struck out in their choice of escape routes, authorities said today.

Police said they arrested John C. Campell Jr., 32, of Watertown, and Earl C. Williams, 38, of Winthrop, fleeing a holdup at a local supermarket after the pair became snarled in traffic headed for Game 4 of the American League Championship Series.
